Dr. Evanski taught for ten years in public and private schools in the state of Michigan, and has been an administrator at the elementary, middle school and high school levels since 1994. He has served on the faculty of Wayne State University, Oakland University Saginaw Valley State University and Macomb Community College, teaching classes including Leadership Skills for Managers, and master’s level courses in Philosophy of Education, Curriculum Development, Middle School Curriculum and Introduction to Brain Research.
Creative works include several fiction and non-fiction children’s books on topics including goal setting and science of sound, and a book of short stories. Dr. Evanski has also written a book on practical creativity, which was the topic of a presentation at the Brain and Learning Exposition in San Diego, California in October, 1998 and the NASSP national convention in San Antonio in 1999.
He has been working with Drs. Curwin and Mendler, authors of “Discipline with Dignity” for several years, and was a creative consultant on their latest video series “As Tough As Necessary”. He has also spent extensive time with Eric Jensen, Richard Allen and Geoffrey and Renatta Caine, training in the application of brain research to educational settings. He gives workshops throughout the United States and Canada on the topics of brain research, creativity, school discipline.
His book, “Classroom Activators: 64 novel ways to increase student motivation” Is published by The Brain Store, San Diego, California.
He went through intensive training with Eric Jensen, Rich Allen, Geoffrey and Renate Caine. He is a trained SuperCamp facilitator, which is an accelerated learning program created by Eric Jensen and Bobbi Deporter, which brings to life the best practices of cutting edge research to improve student achievement.
